ITINERARY

Day 01:
Cusco, Lares-Maraniyuc
Transfer to Lares from Cusco. Once there, the mules are ready to go. It takes nearly one hour (walking) to reach the Tambohuaylla Bridge. Then we go through the valleys. The vegetation begins to change as we gain altitude; it shrinks gradually as the climb up to reach the Yanacocha lagoon. Walk up to Maraniyoq and camp.
Meals: lunch and dinner
Overnight at the camp.

Day 02:
Maraniyoq - Patakancha
After the breakfast we walk to the Patakancha Community. We pass several small passes. The houses are scattered here and there. It is surprising that farm families live a normal manner at such an altitude: we are often above 4000 MASL. Descent to the small community of Patakancha (near to Ollantaytambo).

Overnight at Patakancha (family house).

Day 03:
Patakancha - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes
Breakfast and departure in a vehicle to Ollantaytambo. Departure to Aguas Calientes.
Meals: not included
Overnight in Aguas Calientes.

Day 04:
Machu Picchu-Cusco
Climb by bus to Machu Picchu and guided visit. Return to Poroy by train and transfer to the hotel.
Meals: not included
Overnight in Cusco.
